Carl Bowyer, DVM
Dr. Bowyer grew up near Simcoe, Ontario. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1996. He enjoyed mixed animal practice for the first 5 years of his career. In 2000, Dr. Bowyer switched to small animal medicine exclusively and worked at a clinic in Sault Ste. Marie for 9 years. While there, he recognized that there were several committed pet owners who were traveling great distances to see a veterinarian. In 2010, Dr. Bowyer decided to accommodate those people by creating S.N.M.V.S. and hitting the road! He has enjoyed touring the north on a weekly basis ever since!
In his spare time, he enjoys many outdoor activities - especially hunting and fishing - and spending time with his family.
Karen Martineau, RVT
Karen moved back to her hometown of Sault Ste. Marie after over 20 years in southern Ontario. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 30 years and still loves working with animals. In her off time, she enjoys hiking with her lab and snuggling with her cat. She also enjoys playing slow-pitch and paddle boarding in the summer.
Kaleya Belanger, Assistant
Kaleya has grown up in Wawa, Ontario for most of her life. From a young age, she's known that being around animals was her passion. She loves animal behaviour and one day hopes to pursue a career in animal training, as she carries a unique patience for all animals. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two rabbits, three boxers and two horses. She also enjoys art and swimming.
